Alcudia's Weather

The island of Mallorca and its pretty towns like Alcúdia, stand out from other holiday destinations due to their beautiful sunny climate. The number of sunny days on our beautiful island outnumbers cloudy and rainy days by a long way. What’s even better is the rain tends to only occur during the cooler months.

Alcúdia is a beautiful municipality of Mallorca located in the north of the island, but this being in the north does not prevent it from having lots of lovely bright sunshine for much of the year. The temperatures of Alcúdia are, just the same as in the rest of Mallorca, very warm, especially in the summer months.

Thanks to its Mediterranean climate, winters have very mild temperatures, while summers are hot and sunny. The hottest months are from June to August, however during the autumn and spring months, the temperatures are still perfect for enjoying the beaches, and outdoor pursuits like hiking, and cycling...

If you want to know more about Alcúdia, read on!

 The Weather in Alcúdia

As we mentioned above, the weather in Alcúdia is one of its greatest assets, if you like hot sultry days and enjoy spending time on the beach next to the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea or, perhaps you prefer relaxing by the pool then come to Mallorca in June, July or August; summer is the perfect season to enjoy water sports, diving, snorkelling... and much more!

However, there is still plenty of sunshine in April, May, September, and October, if you to enjoy a wide variety of physical activities then this is the perfect time to visit. It is the perfect weather to explore the island and discover all its hidden charms.

At the end of November, the temperatures start to drop, and, until the end of March, they do not rise again. Although, to be honest, it never really gets very cold on the island which is why many species of migratory birds fly here to enjoy the mild winter temperatures.

It really doesn’t matter what time of year you decide to visit and enjoy Alcúdia! At any time, throughout the year, you will always find different activities to do, but also there are plenty of opportunities to simply relax and rest.

Alcúdia

Alcúdia, as we mentioned before, is located in the north of Mallorca. It is a town steeped in history, with nearby mountainous areas and idyllic beaches. This blend of landscapes makes Alcúdia the perfect place to spend a holiday! Why not combine rest with some activities thrown in?

As for its history, Alcúdia has a unique wall that in the past served to protect the city from marauding pirates and privateers. But that's not all, they also have the only Roman city in Mallorca. An exceptional archaeological site dating back to 123 BC.

If sightseeing is on your mind, Alcúdia is close to some of the most magical corners of the Serra de Tramuntana. A UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can enjoy many different types of day trips into the mountains, both hiking and cycling, but where, if you look carefully, you will also find beautiful virgin beaches and unique stony coves.

Among the most outstanding routes for cycling in Alcúdia, is the climb up to the Formentor Lighthouse, a route surrounded by cliffs and offers up some utterly unique views. On the other hand, if you are looking for a hiking trail in Alcúdia, then we recommend the trail up to the Hermitage of la Victoria, a beautiful hike that will reward you with panoramic views over the Bay of Alcúdia.

 The Alcúdia Beaches

One of the advantages of the beaches of Alcúdia is their diversity. You will find both sandy beaches, as well as stone beaches. So, if you are travelling to Mallorca this summer, do not hesitate to choose Alcúdia as your destination.

The sandy beaches of Alcúdia are mainly located in the bay of Alcúdia. These beaches have all the important amenities and services so sunbathing and cooling off will be the only thing you have to worry about. Most of these sandy beaches in Alcúdia have been awarded the prestigious blue flag for their cleanliness.

The other choice of beaches that you will find in Alcúdia is the stone beaches. They are usually coves at the base of the mountainous area of Alcúdia’s headland, they are a bit more difficult to access and you will need to take a walk off the beaten track of between 20 and 50 minutes, but it’s worth the effort and

they will reward you with their unspoilt character and beauty.,

As we have just mentioned, there are many different beach options in Alcúdia, so if you are looking to have a chilled beach day, you only have to choose which one suits you best
