The 4 best beaches in Alcúdia

Looking for the best beaches in Alcúdia? Look no further. In today's post, from Astoria Playa, we reveal 4 beaches and coves that are a must and you can't miss in this magical area in the north of Mallorca.

Alcúdia Beach

As it could not be otherwise, the first one you should know, if you do not already know it, is the famous Alcúdia Beach, which stretches across the bay and always offers an ideal breeze that helps to combat the summer heat.

The beach starts in Port d'Alcúdia and extends along the bay of Alcúdia, which means about 7 kilometers of fine whitish sand that everyone who steps on it falls in love with. Thus, it passes through the municipalities of Platja de Muro, Can Picafort, Son Serra de Marina and finally, Artà.

The beach of Alcúdia, which is also the largest in the Balearic Islands, is very extensive and has a shallow depth for several meters from the shore to the sea, so you can walk along it without the water covering your calf for a while. This is a plus point for many families who want to enjoy a perfect day at the beach.

In addition, it should be noted that on the beach you will find a wide range of leisure and activities at sea; from boat rides or "banana" to velomar rentals or the use of inflatable slides in the middle of the sea.

The best of all is that, in addition to being beautiful and spacious, it has numerous services: Red Cross posts, public toilets and showers, beach bars, restaurants, hammock and umbrella rentals, and all kinds of water sports. As if that were not enough, add that it is also very easy to access, with easy parking in the surrounding area and access for the disabled.

Es Coll Baix

In second place we have Es Coll Baix, a very special cove located in the outskirts of Alcúdia (although it is still considered one of the best beaches in Alcúdia). Specifically, it is located in the area of Cap Pinar.

It should be noted that this is a virgin cove and beach, with quite little affluence compared to the previous beach, and therefore, access to it is not so easy. To get there you have to walk through some forest and descend to the cove.

Es Coll Baix, 250 meters long, is located between natural stone walls, has transparent and deep waters, and coarse dark sand. Undoubtedly, it is a spectacular cove. Because of its depth, it is quite common to see private boats near the cove.

Alcanada

Alcanada is a better known cove and just as impressive as Coll Baix, although this one is more suitable for families or people looking for a quiet atmosphere. The beach of Alcanada is about 200 meters long, and has crystal clear waters with a sandy bottom.

The influx of visitors in the Alcanada is average, and we can also see small boats anchoring nearby. Being a more hidden cove than the mythical Playa de Alcúdia, this one does not have the same services. The closest thing to the beach is a famous golf course with restaurant and parking, while just over 1km away you can find more restaurants and supermarkets.

The most remarkable thing about Playa de la Alcanada is that it has a small islet just over 100 meters from the shore. This is a beautiful element that completes the picture of the place, and many appreciate how easy it is to swim to it and feel like an explorer surrounded by sea and nature.

Can Capdebou

This is one of the best beaches in Alcúdia, without a doubt. And no, it is not overcrowded, but rather has a medium occupancy in high season. Can Capdebou is a narrow, but very long beach, located next to the road that goes from Alcúdia to Puerto de Pollença. Specifically, in the area of Sa Marina.

This beach is frequented by many island residents, local fishermen and surfing enthusiasts, although you may see some vacationers who have fortunately stumbled upon this magical place.

The beach is of fine sand mixed with small stones, of a somewhat dark shade similar to metal. Of course, it is a more isolated beach than the rest, like the famous Playa de Alcúdia, so you will not find services such as hammocks for a fee, but it is very easy to access.

As for the sea and the wind, the water of this beach is shallow, and there is always plenty of air, so it is common to see many surfers and kitesurfers doing their thing.
