What is the weather like in Mallorca?

 

The weather in Mallorca, is to be honest, splendid, and best of all, it stays that way for most of the year. Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands, and in addition to its historical attractions, beaches, charming villages and the endless leisure possibilities, the weather in Mallorca is one of its main assets.

 

The weather in Mallorca is wonderful thanks to its classic Mediterranean climate, stable and warm temperatures for much of the year and very little rainfall. In Mallorca, you can enjoy an average of more than 300 sunny days per year, with mild temperatures and almost always beautiful blue clear skies.

 

Of course, the most popular time for visitors and locals alike has always been Summer, particularly July and August, when you can make the most of your holidays by taking the opportunity to take a dip in the sea or visit one of the many beautiful beach clubs. However, during these months, it can be quite hot, often exceeding 30º, nevertheless the exquisite sea breeze helps to chill things down a bit ! To stay cool during the hot days of Summer simply be near the sea, near a port or under the cooling sunshade of a comfortable Bali Bed by the pool.

But what happens in winter? During this time things change very little, occasionally there may be a short period of intense cold, but usually the winters in Mallorca are mild. Tip: If you are coming on holiday during the winter, we recommend a good hot chocolate with a quarter or even a whole delicious ensaimada at Ca'n Joan de S'Aigo, in the centre of Palma, pure heaven! And, if you take a look at the weather forecast in advance and see it has snowed in Mallorca then, do not hesitate to get yourselves to the Serra de Tramuntana to see the snow-capped mountains. Yes, sometimes it does snows in Mallorca but it`s spectacular!

 

The weather in Alcúdia, north of Mallorca

 

Alcúdia, located on the north coast of Mallorca, is one of the most popular locations on the entire island. Great weather, a huge amazing beach, rich cuisine and a walled historic town; a dream destination for any visitor. But do not be fooled, the area of Alcúdia and surroundings is also very popular with the locals. Of course, in Alcúdia, you can also enjoy the great Mediterranean climate, it is almost always mild with moderate temperatures and very little rainfall.

 

Summer is undoubtedly one of the most recommended times to come on holiday to Alcúdia . The months of July and August, especially the latter, are the warmest of the year - the sunshine never ends ! Therefore, if you are coming on holiday at this time, do not forget your swimsuit, your best sunglasses and your trendiest beach hat, because you will surely stop more than once or twice on the Alcúdia Beach or sit by the pool of your hotel. Weather in Alcúdia in winter or autumn

 

On the other hand, if you plan to come on holiday to Mallorca later in the year, perhaps in the winter or autumn, keep in mind that it can also be a good time to stay in the Alcúdia area and do other types of “non-beach” activities such as cycling or trekking. During these cooler months, temperatures range between 10º - 17º, January being the coldest, but still very pleasant. You can take advantage of the cooler temperatures to visit the capital city of Palma with its historic monuments or one of its many art galleries, as well as enjoy sports such as cycling, climbing or even visiting the old town of Alcúdia and enjoying the local cuisine.
