Even the road that takes you up to the lighthouse is picturesque, full of twists, curves and bends. But be aware, during the summer months, the road is closed at certain times of the day to avoid traffic jams and long queues.
The construction of Formentor began in 1857, first, the access roads also had to be built and more than 200 people were involved in their construction. Finally, six years later the lighthouse was completed and remains in operation to this day.
